The most important towns and interesting places in ILIA area, are PYRGOS (the capital), AMALIADA, ANDRAVIDA (where the airport is),KILLINI port (with ship-line to IONIAN ISLANDS), KATAKOLO, KAIAFA lake (with the excellent view and mineral waters) also ancient ILIDA and of course ANCIENT OLYMPIA where the Olympic Games born in. In two museums, the old and the new one, you can see the history of ancient Greece and all about Olympic Games.

The ILIA area
has the most beautiful sand-beaches with clean crystal water. Especially
DOUNEIKA beach is absolutely suitable for children. Other beaches near
DOUNEIKA are PALOUKI, where exists a small port, you can leave your boat
too, KOUROUTA – with night life also,
ST. MARINA, SPIAGGIA, ZACHARO, KATAKOLO with
fish taverns, disco bar etc.
